• Site and main menu now focus on the four main activities of Westerhof B.V., namely machining, construction, assembly and complete machine projects.
• We have increased the number of pages with separate pages for each main activity. Extra pages have been added for a number of specializations within these main activities, for example stainless steel processing. A separate page has also been devoted to list our machines.
• We have added a photo gallery with examples of work and projects performed for our customers. The photos have been classified according to the four main activities.
• We have also included a digital tour of various departments. It provides the visitors of the website with a clear picture of the layout and equipment, which Machinefabriek Westerhof uses for the performance of our activities.
• A short video film has been added showing some of our latest turning and milling machines in action.
• The contact page enables visitors to contact our project managers directly by e-mail, as well as our plant management, the workshop supervisor, sales and general management.
• On the contact page, you can use a digital form to request an offer, a drawing in pdf format can be added with the digital request.
• The website fully matches our new house style, which was introduced in June with the publication of the new company brochure. This new style communicates more clearly the industries that are served by Westerhof and the kind of products that can be supplied.

We are very happy to inform you that the auditors report confirmed full compliance with the current standards. For the fourth consecutive time, our track record remained intact as not a single defect was reported after the original certification audit in 2006 nor during the yearly control audits. 

Machinefabriek Westerhof has a new vertical lathe, the Doosan VT900M. This lathe has a maximum swing of 900 mm, a maximum centre distance of 850 mm and a maximum rotational speed of 1,800 rpm. The machine has a turret with 12 tool positions, four of which can also be used for driven tools.

This machine is a welcome addition to our existing machinery. There will soon be more news about the Machinefabriek Westerhof’s wide range of machinery shortly, including the DMU 125 P and the Puma 400XLM.

Opening and open day were a huge success

The opening and the open day on 9 and 10 November respectively at Machinefabriek Westerhof were a huge success. Friday, 9 November was reserved for invited guests. Mayor Willeme held the opening speech and performed the opening ceremony. In the evening, guests had an opportunity to visit the water mill on the Singraven estate, which was operational especially for this evening and for Westerhof. The guests also visited the Singraven castle via the torch-lit route under the direction of a guide. The photo shows the “moment suprême” when Marcel Westerhof´s son, Guido, cuts the tape. The official part took place at 20.30 at restaurant Het Singraven where a three-course lunch was served. According to Marcel Westerhof, the greatest gift he received was the speech by the senior purchasers of the firms of Vredestein and Michelin, Messrs Kruishoop and Hoehe respectively. Both praised the cooperation with Westerhof.

On Saturday, 10 November, the official part started at 11.00 but the first people already arrived at 10.00. There were many suppliers, family members, acquaintances and others. The number of visitors was estimated at about 1,500, with quite notably, a lot of students looking for information from the representatives of the ROC and the Smeot.

The car park is nearing its completion. In a few weeks time, the new canteen, changing and  washing rooms will be ready. 

New Milling Machine - DMU 125 P

Since recently, Westerhof Machinefabriek own a new milling machine type DMU125 P. This milling machine is a 5 and 4 simultaneous axis machine. Tools for this machine are adjusted on a Zoller presetting device. The milling machine is controlled externally by the Cad-Cam program Mastercam X2. The machine has been operational for two weeks now and the chips are already falling daily.
